Visa Requirements for U.S. Citizens

TOURIST

• Valid and signed U. S. Passport (valid at least 6 months beyond the date of entry; with at least one blank visa page) – photocopy is not acceptable
• One Visa Application Form completed and signed. NOTE: All foreign nationals who intend to visit Bangladesh for various purposes must fill up Online Application for Bangladesh Machine Readable Visa at https://www.visa.gov.bd/
  NOTE: PLEASE PROVIDE US YOUR APPLICATION ID # and PASSWORD
• Two Passport Type Photographs
• Computer generated flight itinerary from the travel agent
• Hotel reservation/Letter of Invitation with appropriate contact details of the host. If the host belongs to any official/business entity, the letter of invitation has to be written on official or business pad; otherwise a copy of the NID of the host has to be attached.

BUSINESS

• Two Passport Type Photographs
• Business Letter from U.S. Company
• Letter of Invitation from the sponsor or host in Bangladesh company (fax or scanned copy is acceptable) – clearly stating the purpose of the visit. Please also include Trade License/Registration Paper or any Government issued Certificate in favour of the host organization.

OFFICIAL or DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY

• Submit your U.S. Official or Diplomatic Passport (must have at least 6 months remaining validity)
• One Visa Application Form completed and signed. NOTE: All foreign nationals who intend to visit Bangladesh for various purposes must fill up Online Application for Bangladesh Machine Readable Visa at https://www.visa.gov.bd/
  NOTE: PLEASE PROVIDE US YOUR APPLICATION ID # and PASSWORD
• Two Passport-type photographs
• Letter from sending Government department or agency, confirming the purpose of travel and dates of the intended visit.
