Other categories
Business and STR visas.
Business categories add employer paperwork on top of the tourist document set. The salary line in the employer letter is what the consulate reads first.
Business visa
Same online application, passport and itinerary rules, plus two letters.
- Business letter from your U.S. employer — on company letterhead, an official appointment or employment letter, including your salary. The consulate expects the amount to reflect a substantial professional income
- Invitation letter from your Nigerian host — on official company letterhead, stating the purpose of your visit and the expected duration
- Flight itinerary — confirmed round-trip ticket or booking showing entry and exit dates
- Visa photo — 2x2 inches, plain white background, full face, under one month old
STR business visa
Subject to Regularization. For taking up employment in Nigeria.
- Expatriate Quota approval — your Nigerian employer must have obtained an approved Expatriate Quota before the STR visa can be issued
- What it allows — entry to Nigeria, then completion of your work permit process in-country after arrival
- Four visa photos — 2x2 inches, plain white background, taken within the last month
- Valid U.S. passport — one blank visa page, signed, six months validity past departure
TWP and eVisa
Temporary Work Permit, and the electronic option.
The TWP covers short assignments and needs government pre-approval. The eVisa skips passport submission entirely.
TWP business visa
Temporary Work Permit, for shorter-term assignments.
- TWP approval from Nigeria — pre-approved authorization from the Nigerian government is required before this visa can be issued
- Bring the approval — take the approval document to the Chicago office along with your passport
- Valid U.S. passport — original, undamaged, one blank visa page, signed, six months past departure
- Visa photo — 2x2 inches, plain white background, full face, under one month old
eVisa, no passport submission
Tourism and short business visits, emailed to you.
